Angelica Knight, MS, IBCLC, CD, ACSM CEP Angelica Knight entered the world of birthwork in 2019 and has hit the ground running since discovering her divine passion in it. Exercise and Sports Medicine has always been aligned with her, but connecting movement as a resource for birthing people has impacted not only her, but all the clients she's worked with moving forward.
Although being trained in various methods of supporting birthing people, she has found a way to meet the needs of each family she has been partnered with. Holistic practices are more aligned with her preference, but holds space for evidence-care in more complex birthing situations. Education is a large piece of Angelica's practice prenatally as a doula; we all have to be on the same page before baby arrives! Understanding your options and having a plan prior has always led to more satisfactory birth experiences. Angelica brings a leveling, calming energy to the room, but also has guards it to center the family. Advocacy is a priority in all families that receive support in the birthing space. In her free time, she loves all things exercise related, but also enjoys being with nature and spending time with her dog, Cocoa. She feeds her inner child with cartoons, comic books, and video games. What are Angelica's long-term goals in birth work? She plans to become a midwife that serves her home state of North Carolina to provide equitable care. Due to NC State Laws, Angelica is required to go to Nursing School and obtain her BSN and her MSN Master's Degree in Midwifery. With her first year of out the way, she hopes that her community will help her get through her BSN... She can handle the rest! |
